Found "NetBSD" in subject. Assuming kermit == C-Kermit.
Guessing: Speed mismatch? What "SET SPEED" command did you issue in
C-Kermit before dialing? (Alternatively, what "-b" option did you give
when starting C-Kermit.) Before dialing, what does "SHOW COMM" give as
the speed?
Do you get a clean "CONNECT" message? Does it specify the speed? Is
your modem set to buffer data and speak to the remote modem and to your
computer at different speeds, or does it change the speed on the DTE (i.e.
your computer) connection to match the speed negotiated with the remote
DCE (i.e. the other modem?)
